Café All-Rounder / Barista – Summer Position at Ohope Beach Golf Links!
Love good coffee, good food and great people? We’re looking for a friendly, confident Café All-Rounder / Barista to join our fun team over the summer.
This would suit someone who loves people, enjoys making simple but delicious food, can make a great coffee and likes working in a relaxed but busy environment.
You’ll often have the café to yourself, so being confident, organised and able to use your initiative is important. You’ll need to be able to make a coffee, put together a platter, and keep things moving all at the same time.
What we’re looking for:
*Experienced making espresso coffee and preparing fresh café food independently. For example, preparing scones, sandwiches, croissants, chips and platters etc.
*Friendly, confident people skills and a genuine enjoyment of serving customers.
*A great multitasker who can work independently and use their initiative.
*Someone who can stay calm and organised during busy times and keep productive when it’s quiet.
*Comfortable handling cash and keeping the café clean and well stocked.
*Reliable, flexible and a strong communicator, particularly with our permanent cook as you’ll be working different days.
*A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in and be part of a fun team.
The details:
*This is a fixed-term summer position, starting as soon as possible and running through to approximately mid-February, with exact dates to be confirmed.
*30–40 hours per week, primarily daytime hours. Some occasional evening work may be required for the odd golf club function or event, with notice given where possible.
*Flexibility over summer is important, as our day-to-day needs can change and we’re looking for someone happy to help out when needed.
